What to expect (45–60 minutes)

  1. Arrive & breathe (5–10 min) – grounding + posture check
  2. Warm-up (10–15 min) – joint circles, gentle weight shifts (seated or standing)
  3. Core Taichi (20–30 min) – simple patterns for balance, relaxation, and ease
  4. Cool-down & mindfulness (5 min) – soothing stretches + quiet rest

Choice-based: You may pause, adapt, or stay seated the entire time.

What to bring

  • Comfortable clothing; flat shoes or socks with grip
  • Stable chair (for Zoom) or request one on-site
  • Water bottle; optional light layer for cool-down

Accessibility & safety

  • Low-impact, joint-friendly; no forced stretching or impact
  • Options for shoulders, knees, hips, and lower back
  • Share any needs (e.g., dizziness, osteoporosis, recent surgery) so we can tailor cues
  • Trauma-informed: You choose your pace; privacy is respected (camera optional on Zoom)

Class Policies

  • Accessibility: Every class offers seated or standing options. Move at your pace. 
  • Registration: Please register at least 12 hours in advance to receive location/Zoom details.
  • Donations: Classes are donation-based; scholarships available. No one turned away.
  • Cancellations/Changes: If a class has low enrollment or weather issues, we may move to Zoom or reschedule. We’ll email/SMS updates.
  • Make-ups: If a class changes, you can transfer your registration to another date in the same month.
  • Privacy & Photos: We ask consent before any photos. Opting out is always honored.
  • Health & Safety: Choose a pain-free range. If you have recent injury or medical concerns, please consult your clinician and let us know what supports you.

Do I need experience?
No. We start simple and repeat key patterns.

Can I stay seated?
Yes—every sequence has a chair option.

How do Zoom classes work?
Register → receive link → set your camera where posture is visible (optional) → keep a stable chair nearby.

Is this suitable for arthritis or osteoporosis?
Yes. We use gentle ranges, alignment, and breath. Tell us your needs so we can offer options.

What ages can attend community classes?
Most are adult-friendly; see Youth & Family for kid-centered sessions.
