About Us

Founder’s Story

For decades, I quietly lived with chronic sinusitis, pollen allergies, and lower back pain. These conditions shadowed my daily life, limiting my energy and affecting my sense of well-being. Despite trying many forms of treatment, I struggled to find lasting relief—until I began to turn inward.

I have practiced Yang-style Taichi for several decades, and later committed myself deeply to Chen-style Taijiquan, the original family lineage. What I discovered through years of dedicated practice is that the fundamental principles of all Taichi styles are the same: softness overcoming hardness, rooted stillness within movement, and the integration of body, breath, and awareness. These principles, when practiced with mindfulness, are profoundly healing.

More than fourteen years ago, I also began a daily mindfulness meditation practice. Through the integration of Taichi movement and meditative awareness, I experienced a slow but profound transformation. My allergy symptoms diminished. My chronic sinusitis became rare. And the lower back pain that had persisted for over thirty years finally began to ease. This was not a surface-level recovery—it was a deep rebalancing of the nervous system, body mechanics, and internal energy.

This journey became the inspiration for Mindful Taichi Co., a nonprofit organization devoted to sharing the healing power of embodied mindfulness through Taichi and meditation. Our mission is to make these time-honored practices accessible to people from all walks of life—especially those seeking sustainable, self-directed health.

As a 13th-generation ICH inheritor of Chen-style Taijiquan and a disciple of Master Chen Bing, the national Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) bearer of the Chen family lineage, I am committed to honoring the roots of this living tradition. I also serve as Master Chen’s official English translator, continuing weekly translations of his teachings to help bring authentic Taijiquan to a global audience.

At Mindful Taichi Co., we believe that true healing comes not from fixing symptoms, but from reconnecting with the body’s innate wisdom. Whether you are new to movement practices or have long walked the wellness path, you are warmly invited to join us in cultivating balance, resilience, and joy—one mindful breath at a time.
