     Three Days of Movement, Mindfulness, and Community 

     📍 Bradford Woods, Martinsville, IN
    📅  October 15–17, 2026 

    Join us for a three-day immersive retreat at Bradford Woods, where nature, movement, and mindfulness come together to support restoration, learning, and connection.

    Hosted by Mindful Taichi Co., this retreat invites participants to slow down, reconnect with their bodies, and experience traditional Tai Chi practice in a peaceful natural setting. Whether you are completely new to Taichi or have years of experience, this retreat is designed to be welcoming, adaptable, and accessible.

    Set within the forests, trails, and open spaces of Bradford Woods, participants will practice in an environment designed for reflection, movement, and community. Bradford Woods offers retreat facilities, accessible spaces, lodging options, and natural settings that support experiential learning and wellness.

    What to Expect

    Participants will explore a balance of movement, mindfulness, learning, and rest through:

    • Tai Chi fundamentals and form practice
    • Standing meditation and embodied mindfulness
    • Relaxation exercises and body awareness practices
    • Silk reeling and whole-body movement principles
    • Walking meditation and mindful outdoor practice
    • Discussions on applying Tai Chi principles in everyday life
    • Community meals and informal conversations
    • Quiet time for reflection and restoration

    Programs emphasize accessibility, whole-body integration, and trauma-informed teaching approaches.

    Who Is This Retreat For?

    This retreat welcomes:

    • Beginners interested in learning Tai Chi and mindfulness
    • Older adults seeking balance, mobility, and healthy aging practices
    • Returning practitioners wishing to deepen fundamentals
    • Caregivers, healthcare professionals, and community members seeking restorative practices
    • Anyone interested in slowing down and reconnecting with themselves and others

    No previous experience is required.

    Retreat Goals

    Sample Daily Rhythm

    Morning
    Gentle movement practice, standing meditation, mindful warm-up

    Afternoon
    Workshops, form practice, outdoor walking meditation, discussion sessions

    Evening
    Reflection, community gathering, quiet practice

    Final schedule will be shared closer to the retreat date.

    About Bradford Woods

     Located between Indianapolis and Bloomington, Bradford Woods is Indiana University’s outdoor center with retreat facilities, lodging, trails, forested areas, and spaces designed for groups of varying sizes. The campus emphasizes accessibility and inclusive programming across its facilities.
